Hassan Sharaff - Cultivator
Hassan founded HydroHouse Farms in 2016 and serves as the CEO and Head Grower. He spent the last decade working in a variety of industries including financial services, non-profit, restaurant/hospitality, and digital media. Through his various experiences Hassan noticed concerning trends in commercial agriculture and the impact it is having on our health and the environment. HydroHouse Farms was created to bring quality food production back to local neighborhoods and cities without the waste and environmental harm caused by commercial farms.
In his spare time Hassan enjoys playing soccer, tennis, drums, piano, and guitar. Hassan was born in Great Britain, grew up in New York, and has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
Julia Nichols - Plant Specialist
Julia is an artist, melophile, and nature enthusiast. She enjoys live music, hiking, and spending time in her garden. When not tending to the delicious greens and herbs at HydroHouse, she also works at a local garden center and runs her own small business where she creates various styles of art. Julia’s passions are plant medicine and horticulture.
Matt Fox - Marketing/PR
Matt is the owner of Fox in a Box Marketing & PR, co-founder and president of Make Music Nashville and a contributing writer for Nashville's alt-weekly, Nashville Scene. He has won first place for his cherry tomatoes in the TN State Fair five years in a row.
Alexine Rioux - Plant Curator
Alexine is an artist, curator, dog owner, and plant enthusiast living in Nashville, TN. In her free time she writes poetry, takes her dog on bike rides, and works on a variety of art projects from refurbishing furniture to painting. When not curating freshness at Hydrohouse farms, she is working as a fork lift driver and pursuing her masters in art therapy.
